2010 Gifts of Hope Outcomes

Thank you for your support of Gifts of Hope in 2010.   During the Advent and Christmas seasons, over 5,500 Gifts of Hope were purchased.  The grand total of $126,291 was raised and distributed to the beneficiary organizations.
The most popular gift choice was books. Southeast Ministry in Washington DC gives books to adult learners and children who participate in literacy programs. Many families benefit from having books in their homes.

The gift with the largest total dollar amount was a week of summer camp for a child. Camp scholarships worth $7,000 were made available for needy children to attend Mar-Lu-Ridge Lutheran Camp, an outdoor ministry of the ELCA.  Your gift purchases bring joy!

In addition to the gifts listed in the catalog, some congregations designated gifts for special projects. Gifts for these projects totaled $15,156.

Because Gifts of Hope is entirely operated by volunteers and has received grants from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to cover printing and web costs, everything you spend on gifts goes to the organizations that you designate.
